There were those who thought her cheeks too flushed
as if she held a brazen secret beneath her skin
That her lips though they were the color of rubies
did not adhere to the preciousness of the gem
They too easily parted into a wayward smile
and a lilting laugh was too ready at the tip of her tongue
Her wide eyes held the look of love freely given
and her scent was that of the romance of roses
She is wanton and wicked whispered those who would judge
yet in her own heart she knew she was just a woman in love
